Providing the expertise you need
Ibar’s expertise in personal injury forensic economic testimony and structured settlement solutions made possible its contributions to a California legislative effort in 1992 which lead to changes in the California Probate Code allowing for the continued establishment of Special Needs Trusts (SNT’s) in California. The basis of this legislation later led to the inclusion of SNT’s as part of the Federal 1993 Omnibus Tax Reconciliation Act, expanding the authority to create SNT’s on a nationwide basis.
Through the establishment of an SNT, the trust Beneficiary remains eligible for public benefits such as Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (S.S.I.).
